概要
アメリカ合衆国の有名シンガー、マイケル・ジャクソンが1983年にリリースした本作。言わずと知れた作品で、絶対に一度は聞いたことがある人気曲です。当時MVにかける費用は1150～1200万円程度が通常であったのに対し、このMVは1億1500万円もの費用がかけられています。13分34秒にも及ぶショートフィルム風の内容が特徴で、今に至るまで多くのパロディが作られている名作です。
ロケ地は？
PVはアメリカ合衆国のカリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスで撮影されています。マイケルが女の子とデートに出かけている劇場として使われているのは、Palace Theatre（パレスシアター）です。
マイケルが化け物たちと踊っている通りはユニオン・パシフィック・アベニューです。壁の塀が目印。
また、女の子が逃げ込む家は、ファンの間では有名な観光地通称スリラーハウス。今でも当時のまま残されているので是非訪れてみたいです。
